Tippi Hedren celebrated her 95th birthday on Sunday.
Her daughter, actress Melanie Griffith, 67, shared a rare video of the Hollywood icon on Monday, wishing her a happy birthday.
‘My beautiful Mama turned 95 yesterday! She’s happy, healthy and feisty!!’ Griffith wrote of her mom, who is battling dementia.
She also showed a glimpse of Tippi’s pastel green confetti cake, which was inscribed with ‘Happy 95th Mor Mor.’
It was a nod to Tippi’s Norwegian descent, as ‘Mor Mor’ means ‘mother mother’ in Norwegian.
Hedren starred in the hit horror movie The Birds which was directed by Hitchcock. She also acted in the hit films Marnie, Birds II and Pacific Heights.

In the clip Tippi was pictured blowing out her candles, before sweetly waving to the camera.
Tippi looked chic in a black sweater, with a red and black top underneath, and a pair of black leather pants.

She adorned herself with a collection of jewelry, completing the look with a bold red lipstick.
Melanie’s pal Demi Moore took to the comments, writing, ‘Gorgeous!’
Another friend wrote, ‘Happy Birthday! She looks fabulous.’
’95! Wow… she looks gorgeous,’ someone else added.

Spanish journalist Gustavo Egusquiza learned of Tippi’s condition after requesting an interview.
In response, her team said the actress ‘is no longer able to be interviewed due to health reasons.’
‘She has dementia, and is unable to remember her career at all.’
‘She just turned 94, so unfortunately, time has taken its toll.’

‘This is devastating news for Tippi Hedren’s fans worldwide,’ Egusquiza added.
‘Unfortunately, her agent confirmed to me that Tippi is dealing with dementia and is unable to remember her career. It is a difficult situation for her and her family.’
Her condition was reported in Spanish media outlets.
The elderly actress rose to fame for her turn Hitchcock’s leading lady in The Birds, a horror-thriller about a town attacked by the killer creatures.
However, their relationship was said to have been somewhat tumultuous, with the director allegedly subjecting Hedren to cruel treatment on set to get more out of her acting.
This included attaching live birds to her body with rubber bands, according to Lawrence Leamer, author of Hitchcock’s Blondes: The Unforgettable Women Behind the Director’s Dark Obsession.
The experience allegedly terrified Hedren, as the birds would peck close to her eyes and face.
To add to her hellish experience, the actress was subjected to a barrage of Hitchcock’s dirtiest jokes, Leamer claims.

Her work has earned her a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer in 1964.
Hedren has been a vocal animal rights activist, with a particular interest in big cats – even welcoming them into her home, including a 300-pound lion named Neil who she kept as a pet.
Her lifelong love affair with lions began in 1969 while she was filming a movie in Africa.
She was inspired to make the disastrous adventure film ‘Roar’ after visiting a wildlife preserve.
The film has since been branded ‘the most dangerous film ever made’ and starred Hedren along with her then 13-year-old daughter.
In order to make the movie, she needed to raise her own cubs and has since owned more than 150 big cats as pets.
However, wrangling all the animals proved extremely difficult and financially challenging.
During a promo shoot, Hedren was bitten on the head by a lion named Cherries, whose teeth scraped her skull.
‘Who exactly did we think we were to risk all these lives — our crew’s, our animals, ours, and most of all, our children’s—for what really amounted to nothing more than a very, very expensive home movie?’ Hedren wrote in her memoir.
She later had a change of heart about big cats and declared that they should not be kept as pets.

Hedren was given a lifetime achievement award by the Humane Society of the United States.
As well as her famous daughter, Hedren is a grandmother to actress Dakota Johnson, the only child of Melanie and husband Don Johnson.
Hedren has been married three times: First to advertising executive Peter Griffith in 1952.
In 1964, she married her agent Noel Marshall, before the two divorced in 1982.
Three years later, Hedren tied the knot with Luis Barrenechea. The couple was together for a decade before splitting in 1995.
