Mariah Carey proved the naysayers wrong, once again, as she turned heads during a shopping spree at Kemo Sabe in Aspen, Colorado.

Despite years of ridiculous rumors that the superstar, 55, ‘doesn’t do stairs’ anymore, the singer was seen effortlessly descending down a few steps in the 400-square-foot shop.

As she browsed through the celebrity H๏τspot for western wear, the Grammy winner nailed winter chic in a glamorous fur coat, ribbed brown dress and matching suede boots. 

Over the years, Kemo Sabe has become famous for its high-profile customers, like Rihanna, Kendall Jenner and Kyle Richards, who tend to lean into the luxe cowgirl aesthetic while visiting the small mountain town known for its skiing.

The reports that the mother-of-two did not ‘do stairs’ began to circulate following her appearance on Channel 4’s The Friday Night Project in 2008. 

At the time, comedian, Alan Carr, claimed that she demanded a ‘staircase ᴀssistant’ whose job was ‘to check the stairs for her to see whether she could walk down them,’ according to The Guardian.

Last year, the All I Want For Christmas Is You hitmaker poked fun at her diva persona in a cheeky social media post, which showed her doing leg presses in heels and a sparkly gown and getting her hair and makeup done as she laid in bed.

‘I’m Mariah Carey,’ she said in her Instagram Video. ‘Of course this is my workout ensemble.’

In 2021, she even shared a throwback video of herself running in high-heels on the treadmill before pretending not to remember the word for sneakers. 

Carey’s trip back to Aspen comes just weeks after confirming her new romance with Anderson .Paak, 38, in the same city over the holidays. 

Each year, Carey typically does a Christmas tour of concerts and then decamps to the upscale Colorado ski resort for a glamorous getaway.

She brought along her 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with her amicable ex-husband, comedian Nick Cannon.

This year, however, her trip also include a romantic interlude with Anderson, who she was spotted enjoying a date with at the posh Italian restaurant Duemani on Sunday.

They were spotted hand in hand outside the celebrity H๏τ spot, and while they were inside, a source observed Anderson kissing one of Mariah’s hands over the table.

Shortly after that sighting, a source shed light on their burgeoning relationship, speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com.

In spite of their warm rapport when they were seen together at Catch Steak, sources told TMZ they were not dating and exited the eatery separately.

Anderson has reportedly not yet finalized his divorce from South Korean musician Jae Lin, whom he filed for divorce from last January.

Jae and Anderson were married for 12 years and share two children – Soul, 13, and Shine, six – of whom Anderson has requested joint custody.

After he and Mariah were seen at Catch Steak, a source remarked; Mariah and Anderson have been hanging out for months, and have a flirty connection.’

The insider noted further: ‘But he has a reputation as a ladies’ man in Hollywood and is still legally married to his wife,’ via the US Sun.
