Paul Danan’s pals have started up a GoFundMe to raise money for his son DeNiro after the actor’s tragic death.
The former Hollyoaks actor is believed to have slipped and fallen at the luxury apartment near Bristol where he was staying on January 15.
Neighbours told how an ambulance was called to the flat near Bristol on Wednesday evening – but paramedics could not save the star.
Paul, 46, who appeared on Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother, was due to appear in court the following day charged with possession of Class A drugs.
The actor leaves behind his nine-year-old son DeNiro and friends have set up a GoFundMe for the ‘warm, kind and funny’ star in the hopes of raising £10,000 for him after his father’s death.
Several of Paul’s Hollyoaks co-stars left touching tributes to the actor as they donated to the crowdfund, which currently stands at £3,500, including Ali Bastian and Sadie Frost.

Paying tribute to Paul on the GoFundMe, organisers wrote: ‘There was NO ONE like Pauly. His excitement and vitality for life were magnetic. He was warm, kind, funny – actually hilarious, vulnerable, self-deprecating and captivating. Being his friend was a visceral experience, and I defy anyone to close their eyes and picture Pauly with anything but that huge, cheeky, dimpled smile.
‘NEVER one to conform or do anything in an expected or generic way, Paul really was the most ‘Extra’ and unique person you could ever meet.’
The post continued: ‘It’s no secret that he struggled and lost his way at times, but in his true essence, the REAL Pauly, would do anything for anyone no matter what.
‘Whether you knew him from school, Hollyoaks, Love Island, CBB, his rehab journey, or you were just lucky enough to cross paths, he’s sure to have left a gaping Pauly-shaped hole in your heart right now.
‘But he has also left behind a 9 year-old son – DeNiro, and a devastated family. This page has been set up in Paul’s memory, to make his son’s journey a little bit easier.’
Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian donated £100 as she wrote: ‘Such heartbreaking news. So much love and deepest condolences to your family ♥️.’
Meanwhile Sadie Frost gave £30 and said: ‘Oh Pauly .. I am so sad .. I loved you very much and so did Raff who always valued your friendship -big kisses forever and rest in peace my love ❤️.’
Another co-star, Hannah Curtis, echoed Sadie’s donation as she said: ‘Paul was kind to me on set. He made me laugh. Sending love to his friends and family.’

Paul’s accident is thought to have happened while the actor was full of hopes for a TV comeback after getting life back on track.
The actor had been put forward to go on Celebs Go Dating and was feeling optimistic after getting his life back on track.
In a podcast seven months ago Paul told how he was living in a ‘dry house’ in Bristol, believed to be the £392,000 flat where he was found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.
The Grade II listed property – part of a former Georgian lunatic asylum – boasts a swimming pool, gym and tennis court along with 10 acres of grounds.
Also registered at the one-bedroom property is Judith Kim Skelton, 46, a personal development coach who specialises in mental health.
Paul’s neighbours said he ‘kept himself to himself’ in his first-floor apartment.
One told MailOnline: ‘I didn’t know he was famous, I don’t think anyone living here knew who he was until he died.
‘His family has been here since and asked us not to say anything.’

On leaving Hollyoaks: ‘It’s very tough. I mean, maybe years ago I shouldn’t have left Hollyoaks, but I made that decision because after four years, I didn’t want be typecast and back then, everyone didn’t want to be the next Ken Barlow’ [pictured on Hollyoaks]
Another neighbour said she saw an ambulance at the communal entrance to the gated mansion house in Bristol.
She added: ‘I then found out that the man living [in the flat] has died. I didn’t know him, it’s very sad.’
Avon and Somerset Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Residents said they thought Paul lived on his own at the apartment where he was fighting his addiction demons.
Until recently Judith was the director of a company called Morning After Drama where Paul gave talks to fellow addicts at a meeting house in Bristol on Monday evenings.
