Kid Rock focused on family by sharing a rare pH๏τo featuring his son Bobby Jr. as he celebrated his birthday on Friday.

The rap rock–turned–country rock star, who turned 54, posted a sweet picture of himself and his 31-year-old son as they went out for a boat ride on what looked like a lake.

Bobby Jr.’s presence was a surprise, as his singer father — real name: Robert James Ritchie — rarely features him on his social media accounts.

The last time the two posed together for a pH๏τo on Instagram appears to be nearly three years ago, but it was clear that the two still had a strong relationship, as Kid Rock shared a sweet birthday message his son had sent him.

The comments section on the birthday posts was filled with fans wishing Kid Rock a happy birthday and marveling at what a great father he seemed to be.

The Trump-supporting singer — who recently tried to shame Michelle Obama for skipping the upcoming inauguration ceremony — went shirtless with patterned swim trunks, as did Bobby Jr.

He and his son, whom she shares from his years-long on–off relationship with Kelley South Russell, both sported backwards hats, and Kid could be seen holding a lit cigar as they posed for the pH๏τo. 

‘I received the best b-day gift ever this am from my son Bobby Jr. I wanted to share it with all of you because I am just so dam proud of him!’ the hitmaker wrote, adding that it ‘Brought a tear to my eye’ as he thanked ‘June Bug.’

The rest of his caption appeared to be a sweet message Bobby Jr. had sent him for his birthday. 

‘Happy Birthday Dad!! I’m so excited to see you and celebrate an epic weekend,’ His son wrote. ‘God is good, and it really feels like the stars are all aligning! A chance for a Lions Super Bowl, Trump heading back to office, and a brand new chapter starting to unfold for you. The next four years and beyond are looking incredible.’

He declared that his father had ‘been through so much, especially in these last few months,’ but he called him one of ‘God’s toughest soldiers’ and wrote that he was ‘so proud’ of his father and everything he stood for.

‘Grateful for our family and for every blessing,’ he added ‘Love you!! See you tomorrow.’

Kid Rock signaled his love for Bobby Jr. even when they weren’t seen together, such as when he wore a ‘Happy Dad’ hat while playing guitar in a video posted in October. He has also posed with his nine-year-old granddaughter, whom Bobby Jr. welcomed with his girlfriend in 2014

‘Nothing’s better than the love and admiration of your child!!!’ another fan wrote. ‘You know you done well raising them when they look forward to spending time with you as an adult. And your joy is their joy. Enjoy family time and Happy Birthday and Go LIONS.’

In his caption, Kid Rock revealed that he had been shooting three videos recently. 

He and Bobby Jr. posed in front of a green screen, suggesting that the father–son duo would be starring together in at least one of the videos. 

The rocker was dressed in head-to-toe black with a T-shirt, low-rise jeans and a short furry coat, but he spiced up the look with a patriotic gold belt buckle featuring an eagle with spread wings, as well as a gold luxury wristwatch, enormous wrings and a thick gold chain and matching pendant.

Bobby Jr. was dressed in a similarly over-the-top fashion with a silky black floral-print jacket that he layer with a beige leather vest decorated with thick fur trim.

Both men were dressed in large aviator sunglᴀsses, though Bobby favored a more traditional pair while Kid Rock opted for military-style style aviators with squarer lenses. 

Even if the musician rarely features his son on his page, he leaves reminders of their solid relationship, such as a Happy Dad camouflage trucker hat that he donned in a shirtless video of himself playing guitar from October.

He’s also shown himself to be a loving grandfather when he posed with his nine-year-old granddaughter, whom Bobby Jr. welcomed with his girlfriend in 2014.
