Martha Stewart revealed she has adopted an adorable rescue cat on Instagram this week.

The media star, 83, shared a sweet snap of Persian cat Magnolia as she urged fans to consider adopting a pet.

She wrote: ‘Meet Magnolia, a beautiful four year old silver shaded Persian cat and the newest member of my family. 

‘I recently adopted her through @rocknrescue_ a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Bedford Hills, New York. 

‘Please consider adoption when looking for a pet and learn more about Magnolia on today’s @marthastewartblog.’

She added on her blog: ‘Right now, Magnolia is still going through a transitional phase – getting to know me and all the activity around my home, but she’s doing extremely well and will be a wonderful addition to my menagerie and my family. Welcome home, Magnolia.’

Magnolia’s new home is Martha’s idyllic and sprawling Canтιтoe Corners farm in Bedford, New York. 

Fans quickly took to social media to praise the star, with one writing: ‘Imagine being this cat and getting rescued/adopted by MARTHA STEWART!!! 

Others wrote: ‘That cat hit the jackpot’, ‘The luckiest cat’, ;Yep! What a lucky kitty!’

‘Thank you for advocating for adoption / rescue!! It makes a huge difference. She’d absolutely gorgeous! And she is about to have the most wonderful life.’

The star also has five dogs, two Chow Chows, Empress Qin and Emperor Han and three French Bulldogs, Crème Brûlée, Bête Noire, and Luna Moona. 

Martha recently starred in an explosive Netflix documentary – and since its release media star has received backlash for what she has said about and in the film – including admitting to an affair during her marriage to now ex-husband Andrew Stewart

Martha participated in the project, granting extensive on-camera interviews for it, but has been publicly scathing about the finished product .

She complained that the film was ‘lazy’ and ‘left a lot out,’ to the point she hopes to approach the streaming service about cutting together a ‘Version Two.’

Filmmaker RJ Cutler, who has previously directed documentaries about Anna Wintour, Billie Eilish, John Belushi and Elton John, was frank about his creative differences with the subject of his latest feature on the podcast The Town With Matthew Belloni.

‘Martha saw the film and she told me what she thought about it, and it wasn’t surprising to me that she would’ve made a different film that I made, of course,’ he said.

‘And she gave me her feedback, and she was upset that I didn’t make the changes that she wanted to me, but this is process,’ Cutler argued.

‘It takes a tremendous amount of courage on her part to trust me. I respect that,’ he said.

‘In return I share the film with her and have conversations with her about the film.’

‘If she has ideas that I think are good ideas and will help the film that I’m making, I’ll take a good idea from everybody, believe me.’

‘Young women, listen to my advice, if you’re married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he’s a piece of s**t. Get out of that marriage,’ the television personality said.

‘Didn’t you have an affair early on?’ the producer quipped, to which Martha replied, ‘Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.’

Martha started dating Andy — who has been her only husband to date — when she was just 19 and he was 23, after they were set up on a blind date.

At the time he was a Yale law student. He then went into publishing and is currently Publisher Emeritus of Fieldstone Publishing, a nature publishing company.

The pair were married for nearly three decades after saying ‘I do’ in 1961.

They welcomed one child together daughter Alexis Stewart, now 59, in 1965.

The couple ultimately divorced in 1990.

After her divorce Martha briefly dated Silence of the Lambs star Anthony Hopkins. She also dated software architect Charles Simonyi on and off for 15 years, from 1993 to 2008.

In 2023, Martha told E! News that she was single.
