Matt James ‘cheating’ claims with a woman named Grace Amerling have resurfaced just one day after the announcement of his shock split from Rachael Kirkconnell. 

The Bachelor star, 33, shared an Instagram post on Thursday to reveal the news that both he and Kirkconnell, 28, had broken up and asked God to help ‘mend our broken hearts.’ 

Only hours earlier, James had uploaded a reel as the pair enjoyed a trip to London – prompting fans to question the odd timeline. 

Back in April 2021, Amerling – a professional horse rider – claimed she had dated James before his appearance on The Bachelor in 2020, which was confirmed by an insider. 

She then alleged he asked her to join him in Miami ‘for the night’ one day after he bought a ticket for Rachael to see him in NYC. In February 2021, the pair had broken up after racially insensitive pH๏τos of her emerged. 

Rachael had reportedly felt ‘manipulated’ upon discovering that James allegedly tried to set up a rendezvous with Amerling after they had started ‘talking about a future together.’

Following Matt and Rachael’s split this week, fans resurfaced the past ‘cheating’ claims on Reddit as some alleged that the pair split once again due to the TV personality having an affair. 

‘It’s extremely odd,’ one penned of the bizarre timeline of their separation. ‘He post this over the top over loving declaration of love then they break up. It sounds like he was trying to do some damage control.’ 

Another wrote that Matt ‘definitely cheated’ due to a source telling The U.S. Sun that Rachael had ended the relationship and James ‘knows what he did.’ 

In response, a fan added, ‘Agreed. I think it’ll turn out he cheated. I think if it was just the failure to propose it’d be less sudden.’ 

‘Remember when he offered to fly out horse girl when he and Rachael were working it out after AFTR?’ a social media user said, referencing to After The Final Rose. 

At the time, Rachael made an appearance on the episode to apologize for the past pH๏τos of her at a sorority party on a plantation in 2018. 

‘Sometimes I wish RS was as snarky as he used to be because he called Matt James “clout James.” Original, I know. But I loved it!’ the fan continued in the Reddit comment.

A source confirmed both claims to Us Weekly made by Amerling, including that Matt asked her to audition to go onto the ABC dating series. 

During the Instagram Live, Amerling said that Rachael was a ‘victim’ due to Matt attempting to talk to both women at the same time.

After Rachael and Matt began to spend time together, Grace was able to get in touch with Kirkconnell over the situation. 

‘It just didn’t sit right with me,’ Amerling explained to Steve. 

‘I just felt like Rachael was so in love with him and for him to be trying to contact me and hang out with me – someone he’s had past romantic relationships with – two days prior in Miami… I felt like I had to say something for Rachael’s sake.’ 

A source told Us Weekly that Kirkconnell felt ‘very hurt’ and ‘manipulated’ upon learning of his actions. 

‘Rachael is very emotional right now because she was very hopeful that things were going to work out. She’s still trying to process this.’ 

The insider also told the outlet at the time that it ‘doesn’t seem like they will be getting back together.’

The pair first crossed paths on the 25th season of The Bachelor in 2020, and they ended the series in a relationship rather than him proposing to her. 

Rachael has yet to publicly address the split, but a source told The U.S. Sun that she was ‘blindsided’ and ‘humiliated’ by Matt’s Instagram post. 

‘Everyone is confused and still trying to get to the bottom of what happened but first and foremost, they’re supporting Rachael and making sure she’s okay,’ the insider told the outlet. 

‘They didn’t know they were fully broken up. Rachael is being pretty quiet right now but I know she was blindsided by Matt’s post.’ 

‘She didn’t know he was going to do that and definitely wouldn’t have approved of it if she did.’

However, James and Kirkconnell reconciled and began dating again in May 2021 until the shock announcement of their breakup this week on Thursday

In the video, both Matt and Rachael filmed themselves stopping by Crisp Pizza W6 as they each tried savory pizzas.

However, fans jumped to the comment section to share their confusion over the odd timing of the reel.

One penned, ‘So you are eating 36″ total pizza together and 12 hours later you are doing a break up press release?’

‘Matt wtf is going on,’ another questioned, while a social media user added, ‘Well how long do you think she was supposed to be a girlfriend.’

A fan also shared, ‘yall broke up while in london?!!?? say it ain’t so,’ followed by a crying face emoji.
