Elisabeth Finch got slammed by a former colleague for trying to privately fundraise for pet supplies amid the Los Angeles fires.
She is best known for lying to her colleagues at Grey’s Anatomy about having a rare form of bone cancer.
Her lies led to a Vanity Fair article exposing her as well as the Peacock documentary Anatomy of Lies.
Eventually she resigned from her writing job on Grey’s Anatomy amid the allegations against her.
Now she’s back and asking for donations for pet supplies after being evacuated during the devastating LA fires.
‘This is just me. Boots on the ground. It was challenging enough getting dog food while evacuated and I was at a safe place,’ Finch wrote on her Facebook page.

‘So this is for people who have virtually nothing and have pets with basic needs,’ she added.
Jamie Denbo, a producer on Grey’s Anatomy took a screensH๏τ of Elisabeth’s post and shared it with a stern warning.

‘This person is a SCAMMER and a LIAR. It is well documented in the Peacock series Anatomy of Lies,’ her post began.
‘Unless you want to send her donations of 69 cents for her “cancer treatment” (she doesn’t have cancer) or perhaps “in memory of her late brother” (he’s alive) or any thing else she has lied about (everything). DO NOT DONATE to Elisabeth Finch!!!’
The Hollywood Reporter reached out to both women. Finch released the following statement.
‘I recognize, given my history, people might be skeptical of my fundraising efforts,’ she told the outlet.
‘I’m trying to make amends in as many ways I can, including helping my community — especially during these difficult times. So many organizations are calling for gift cards because they are overwhelmed with physical donations, and I didn’t want peoples’ pet needs to get lost in the shuffle.’
Meanwhile Denbo said, ‘Elisabeth continues to scam, deceive and produce incredible material for comedians like myself to use and mock her relentlessly,’ she said.

‘I can’t thank her enough! (For just the last thing.) Keep it up, Finch!’
Finch’s lies were exposed in 2022 after years of faking cancer and other traumas.
‘She used her pretend cancer as a way to move up the ladder at Grey’s and also as a cudgel against anyone who might speak against her,’ former Grey’s writer – and head writer of another mega TV hit, Scandal – Mark Wilding told the Mail exclusively.
‘In 31 years in the business, I’ve never encountered anything remotely like this.’
Indeed, Finch was a significant player in Grey’s. By the time she left the show, after her lies were exposed, she had risen through the ranks to co-produce 172 episodes.
After her falsehoods were uncovered, the now 46-year-old took a leave of absence in March 2022, before resigning and admitting she had ‘lied about so much.’
Finch began her Hollywood career writing for True Blood and The Vampire Diaries.
Her career received a boost in 2014 when, after writing an article in Elle magazine about living with chondrosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, she caught the attention of Shonda Rhimes, a Hollywood powerhouse.

But cancer wasn’t the only thing Finch lied about. In October 2018, she claimed to have lost a friend in the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when 11 congregants were killed in an anti-Semitic terrorist attack.
She even told colleagues she had rushed to the city to help clean up body parts, so her friend could be buried according to Jewish tradition.
Today, her colleagues say they had no reason to doubt her. Wilding remembers a conversation they had at a Christmas party in 2018.
‘I had just been treated for thyroid cancer and she came up to me and said, ‘Mark, I understand you’ve had cancer,’ and I told her it was nowhere near as serious as her cancer.
‘She said, ‘Oh Mark, cancer is cancer’ and I thought at the time that it was a wise thing to say. And, of course, it was all bulls***.’
He says he always thought there was something strange about the Grey’s Anatomy writer.
‘There was something a little off about her, on the edge, intense,’ he recalls. ‘But who is ever suspicious if anyone tells you they have cancer? You take it at face value.’
