Sofia Vergara and Lewis Hamilton looked very cosy as they headed out for lunch in New York.

The Modern Family actress, 52, set off a swirl of romance rumours with the F1 megastar, 40, after they stepped out together on Tuesday. 

The pair were grinning from ear to ear at each other as they said goodbye before the Colombian-American star headed into a car. 

Sofia looked as chic as ever for the lunch as she sported a pair of relaxed wide-leg jeans with a black one-shouldered top.

She also draped a white wool coat over shoulders and accessorised with a black leather bag. 

Meanwhile Lewis kept it low-key in a pair of baggy paint-splattered torn jeans with a brown tartan shirt and overcoat.

He finished off his look with a typically quirky brown fluffy bucket hat and tan suede boots.     

The pair were seen dining with friends at Breakfast by Salt Cure in the West Village on Tuesday.

The outing sparked some buzz as the pair enjoyed their meal at the trendy New York City spot.

Sofia and Lewis were seated next to each other at a restaurant table where they were joined by friends.

Observers claimed that Sofia hardly ate any of the food in front of her, as she was so engrossed in the table talk, according to TMZ.

Outside the restaurant, she and Lewis chatted to one another before she slipped into an SUV and left.

Both of the celebrities appeared to be in bright spirits as they spoke to one another on the sidewalk after the lunch, which is said to have lasted two hours.

Over the years, Sofia has romanced a number of younger men, including her second husband Joe Manganiello, 48, and ex-fiancé Nick Loeb, 49.

Sofia is last known to have dated orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, but this past October she revealed that she was single again.

She was first spotted out with Justin in October 2023, and the pair were seen on several dates since before she divulged she was back on the market.

Sofia was asked about dating in New York versus Los Angeles and said she ‘was talking yesterday about it because now I’m single so…kind of single,’ via Us Weekly.

Sofia and Joe tied the knot in 2015 when she was at the height of her international stardom as Gloria Pritchett on Modern Family. 

She was previously married in the early 1990s to her high school sweetheart Joe Gonzalez, with whom she welcomed her 33-year-old son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara.

Between marriages, she dated actor Nick Loeb for two years before getting engaged to him in 2012, only for them to break up in 2014.

After their split, Sofia and Nick plunged into a legal battle over two fertilized embryos that they produced through in vitro fertilization and kept cryogenically frozen.

Nick first sued Sofia in 2015 in order to obtain custody of the embryos and bring them to term, triggering a years long feud in the courts.

He began their legal fight in California but then shifted it to Louisiana, where the law regards embryos as separate human beings with their own rights.

Sofia scored a victory against Nick in 2021 when a Los Angeles judge granted a permanent injunction against his using the embryos without her consent. 

The ruling accused Nick’s lawyers of ‘blatantly engaging in forum shopping,’ attempting to get the case into a court that would lean in his favor.

Joe, however, staunchly disputed her version of events, saying that he and Sofia ‘did try to have a family for the first year and a half’ but that he ‘swore to her that I would never leave if it didn’t work out. And I didn’t.’

He maintained that the subject of children ‘wasn’t inevitably why everything ended,’ saying the divorce took place ‘because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens,’ in an interview with Men’s Journal.

‘To be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years, turned to somebody and gave them an ultimatum of: “Do this potentially unhealthy thing to your body, or else I’m gone?” That’s never who I was,’ he insisted.
