Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt both broke down in tears while discussing losing their $2.5M three-bedroom home to the Pacific Palisades fire eight days ago.
‘Spencer was like, “Grab anything you want to keep.” And I was like, “How do you choose?” Like, my brain actually stopped working because I was so overwhelmed with so many things you can’t replace. So I grabbed my kids’ teddy bears,’ the 38-year-old Superficial singer cried on Good Morning America on Wednesday.
‘[Your home is] a place that you love, that you live, that’s a refuge from the world. And to have that be gone is a really difficult concept to continue to daily deal with.’
The 41-year-old Pratt Daddy Crystals owner got misty recalling how one of their son’s beds started to burn in the shape of a heart.
‘The worst was like, sorry, our kids’ room is like so magical. We do storytime every night. It’s such our routine, so much love is in there,’ Spencer marveled.
‘I feel like a ghost. I don’t have a single pH๏τo now before an iPhone existed. I don’t have any of the dumb little things that are on your shelves in your parents’ house. They’re all gone, not a single nothing.’

Like a lot of California homeowners, The Hills alums’ policy was dropped by their insurance company last year.
‘We were house poor, as they call it,’ Heidi explained.
‘Like, we have a house and everything else is a hustle, is a grind. So yeah, we’re definitely counting every dollar that we make because we’re working really hard. We take one trip a year.’

X user @jennabanenenna commented on GMA’s tweet: ‘Can we please stop giving these grifter fools air time? So many other people that could have been interviewed.’

‘I can’t wait to be the face of all the fundraisers that are rebuilding the Palisades. But right now, I need to rebuild my house and my parents’ house and have money for our food to eat,’ Pratt – who boasts 3.1M social media followers – defended.
‘And then after I lock that in, what do you think I’m going to be doing for the next five years? Rebuilding the town I grew up in where all my best friends, my parents’ friends, my kids’ friends – all their houses burned down. You don’t think I’m in group chats with a thousand people that lost their freaking houses?
