David Schwimmer has revealed he once served Sir Rod Stewart his divorce papers during a summer internship as a teen, he shared on Tuesday.
The Friends star, 58, worked as a server during his first year of university at 18-years-old and was given the job to hand Rod, 80, the court paperwork.
Though he didn’t confirm who was divorcing the rock legend at the time, Rod and his first wife Alana divorced in 1984 – the same year David would have been 18.
A Process Server is a person who delivers court papers for a living. Once they have served the divorce peтιтion for you, they will provide you with proof of when, how and where the peтιтion was served on the Respondent.
Recalling the awkward encounter on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show, he said: ‘One summer after my freshman year in college, I was just looking for work and my mum said “You can be a process server for me”.’
‘My mum was a divorce lawyer, and so I was the guy who would pop out of the bushes and serve you divorce papers.

‘Once, oh man, thank goodness I’ve never run into him since, but I served Rod Stewart. I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows.’
Stephen joked: ‘He knows now. Change your locks, man. He’s vengeful. You could theoretically run into Rod Stewart sometime and now he knows to punch you.’
After his divorce in 1984, Rod went onto marry model Rachel Hunter in 1990 but split nine years later and divorced in 2006.
Rod and his current wife Penny Lancaster have been happily married since 2007.
On the show, David also opened up about his first and only time hosting Saturday Night Live nearly 30 years ago.
The actor had finished his first year on Friends when he was the first member of the cast to be asked to host SNL during the show’s 21st season in 1995.
While David was honored to host SNL, he revealed that his reps didn’t tell him one important piece of information about hosting the show.
The actor revealed that they would film Friends on Tuesdays, and due to the logistics of filming, which sometimes lasted until 1 AM, he wouldn’t get out to New York City until Thursday.

He admitted that he, ‘couldn’t be more excited’ to host the show, but admitted when he got there, ‘the entire writing staff looked at me as if I had just slept with their mom or something.’
‘They were not happy to see me and I had no idea. Somehow I got through the next two days, but I was kind of traumatized,’ he admitted.
When Stephen asked how it went, David admitted with a laugh, ‘I don’t remember how it went, to be honest.’
‘But it wasn’t until years later that I was talking to somebody else who hosted the show and they said no, were supposed to show up on a Monday,’ David said.
He added, ‘No one told me and for years, I had no idea why,’ adding he was recently, ‘invited to the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, which is coming up in February.’
‘It’s been 30 years and I’m thinking maybe they forgot? That they don’t like me? Or it’s just some intern that’s tasked with emailing everyone who’s ever hosted. But I don’t know what to do,’ Schwimmer said.
Stephen responded, ‘You should go! I worked over there for a little bit and no one invited me.’
‘But I don’t want to be like Charlie brown with the football, you know? You show up all eager. Nope, we don’t want you here,’ the actor admitted.
