Bill Hader was one of the many Pacific Palisades residents whose home was affected by the mᴀssive LA fires, though his home is thankfully still standing.

The 46-year-old actor plunked down $4.2 million for the home in 2019, and while most of the homes around him are in rubble, his managed to survive. 

‘I’m like in shock, but I’m glad my family got out. You know, I feel this is such a great community and I really am at a loss for words,’ Hader told KTLA.

He added that, ‘this happened so insanely fast. It’s kind of mind-boggling how fast it happens, so I just hope everybody is safe. That’s all you can hope right now.’

The Palisades fire is still burning with nearly 24,000 acres burned and it’s only at 18% containment.

With a new wind warning in affect for many Southern California areas, Hader issued a warning to fellow Angelenos if more evacuation orders are issued.

‘If you get an evacuation notice, just leave. I do know people who were like “Well, wait and see” and things like, “I’m in the yellow zone” or whatever,’ Hader said.

He added, ‘This thing, once it went red, you couldn’t get out. Don’t listen to your friends who are like “Ah, you’re being a little freaked out.” Just get out.’

The actor said he wasn’t at home when the fire first started spreading on January 7, but he tried to rush home as soon as he learned.

‘I got a video showing the fire and rushed back, but by the time I got back it was gridlocked (traffic),’ Hader said.

‘I’m like in shock but I’m just glad my family got out. I feel this is such a great community and it’s just… I really am like at a loss for words,’ Hader said.

‘I mean, this happened so insanely fast. It’s kind of mind-boggling how fast it happens, so I just hope everybody is safe,’ Hader said, adding, ‘That’s all you can hope right now, that everybody’s safe.’

‘People keep saying “unreal,” it does. It doesn’t seem real. I’m sorry I’m in shock. It’s just gone. Everything,’ Hader said.

‘Alphabet streets, which is, to me, kind of the heart of the Palisades, this beautiful beautiful area is gone. The whole thing is gone,’ Hader said.

The actor and writer purchased the home in 2019, a year after his split with his ex-wife, film director Maggie Carey, who he shares three daughters with.

The two-story home features five bedrooms along with an office, four full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.

The 4,300-square-foot home also features a a wood-floored formal sitting room along with a small fireplace and huge floor-to-ceiling windows.

Outdoor amenities include a built-in grilling station along with an above-ground pool and spa.
