The wildfires first started spreading last week, the first of which starting in Pacific Palisades, home to celebs such as Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Ben Affleck and more.

The powerful Santa Ana winds – some of which were upwards of 100MPH – combined with extremely dry conditions cause the fires to spread.

While many of the smaller fires have been extinguished, the Palisades Fire is still burning with over 24,000 acres with just 14% containment.

The other major fire – known as the Eaton Fire that has ravaged the Altadena neighborhood – is over 14,000 acres and is 33% contained.
