Actress Jennifer Tilly joined Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for season 14 – and her extravagant lifestyle is featured on the reality series.
Jennifer, 66, owns four properties – two of which are next door to each other in Bel Air – as well as one in Malibu and one in Las Vegas.
In one episode of RHOBH, Jennifer flaunted a Louis Vuitton shaped boat purse, which Bravo noted in the caption on the show that it cost $33,000.
Last month, Jennifer revealed on an episode of RHOBH that she still gets ongoing royalties from The Simpsons – after she got a piece of it in her divorce settlement from ex-husband and Simpsons creator Sam Simon.
Jennifer spoke to E! News about how people are so interested in hearing about her finances and wealth.
‘I’m astonished. Number one, I don’t think of myself as rich. But I guess I’m delusional because I do have several properties and a purse apparently that cost $33,000,’ she told the outlet.

Adding: ‘I thought everybody knew that I had a piece of The Simpsons. It’s not a large piece, but even a little piece is something to write home about.’
The Oscar nominated actress, who has been friends with RHOBH co-star Sutton Stracke for over 16 years, lives with her professional poker player boyfriend Phil Laak.

‘My boyfriend and I live very simply and a very small cluttered house. Yes, there’s a giant house next door, but we don’t go there. I guess we’re kind of delusional. I don’s have a giant mansion or a chauffeur that calls me Miss Tilly and makes out with me like Sutton [Stracke]’s chauffeur. I just live my life the way that I used to live,’ she told the outlet.
She noted that she was shocked that people didn’t know she received royalties from Simpsons.
Adding: ‘The thing I was astonished by, people that that was fabulous. They were like, “She has a house next door to her house and she bought a $4,000 dress for her doll.” They’re like “high five.” I thought people would be like, “That’s horrible that she spent that much money for a dress for her doll when people are hungry.”‘
‘But I think the service that Housewives serves is people like to live vicariously through us,’ she said.
However, she did say she thinks ‘it’s kind of gauche to flaunt your wealth,’ despite the fact that she rocks rare handbags on the show.
She did clarify the price of the purse, which Bravo said cost $33K – which actually cost her only $22K.
However, she did say she thinks ‘it’s kind of gauche to flaunt your wealth,’ despite the fact that she rocks rare handbags on the show
‘Actually, it didn’t cost $33,000, which I’m just setting that straight right now. They must have had some intern look it up. It’s very rare, maybe on the secondary market they jacked up the price but I called my purse contact and I said, “How much did I pay for that purse?” She said “$22,000.”‘
The star gave her opinion on why fans love the franchise.
‘This is why people love Housewives. “They’re so rich and they can afford all the plastic surgery that the heart could desire and designer clothes and jewels, but they’re still not happy.” That is the key to Housewives. Like, “Wow, if I had all that wealth, I would be happy.” But these people they’re miserable. That’s why people like to watch Housewives.’
Tilly was married to Sam Simon from 1984 to 1991.
He developed Fox’s wildly popular animated series The Simpsons, which debuted in 1989 and is still going strong.
During a confessional in a December episode, Tilly revealed that she actually owns a piece of the long-running show, which she got in her divorce from Simon.
Tilly’s net worth is estimated to be around $40 million, which includes earnings from her Simpsons royalties, acting, reality TV and nearly $1 million in earnings from playing poker professionally.
‘My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about ten years. And then when we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and nobody knew that The Simpsons was gonna go on for trillions of years. So, every day, honestly every day, I’m like, thank you, Sam,’ Tilly revealed in the confession.
