It comes following reports that Maya denied reports she is set to leave Love Island next summer after the show returns for another series – after it was claimed former contestant Maura Higgins could replace her.
Maya is thought to earn £750,000 per series for the hosting role after she took over from Laura Whitmore in January 2023.
At the time, Maya said it had been a lifelong dream to host Love Island, expressing how thrilled she was to achieve it finally.
It’s little wonder Maura’s name has been bandied around when it comes to who could ever replace Maya.
Maura, 34, who became a huge hit in I’m A Celebrity this year, first sH๏τ to fame when she made a dramatic entrance into the villa as a bombshell in 2019 – with insiders claiming bosses have her in line as Maya’s replacement.
A source told The Sun: ‘Maya adores hosting Love Island and thinks it’s a great fit for now. But she’s keen to leave on a high and keep her career moving forward on the right tracks. She is incredibly ambitious and would like to keep focusing on primetime presenting opportunities.’
‘She also has hopes of working in America and doesn’t want to be tied down. She has been building up her skills as a presenter and is very much part of the Love Island family.’
