Britney Spears sparked concern as she brandished a grill lighter while walking onto a private jet on her 43rd birthday on Monday.
The songstress, who became legally single on the same day, seven months after finalizing her divorce from Sam Asghari, was seen holding the red lighter over her mouth in a bizarre display as she prepared to leave LA with friends.
The Toxic hitmaker looked chic in a white trench coat paired with a plaid top and black knee-high boots as she pressed the object across her face while walking on the tarmac.
She accessorized with a black fedora and white rimmed shades, while wearing her blonde tresses in soft waves.
It is not known why Spears — who previously burnt down her home gym in 2020, after an accident with two candles — was holding the lighter but she even kept the device over her mouth as she spoke with members of her entourage.
Single, standard lighters – such as cigarette lighters – are generally allowed on private jets in carry-on luggage.

However torch lighters, or any other type with a large flame, such as the one carried by Spears, are usually not permitted onboard per TSA regulations.
It comes after Britney revealed she burned off her eyebrows and eyelashes after attempting to turn on the fireplace in her bedroom earlier this year.
DailyMail.com has contacted a representative for the star for comment.
Since Spears and Asghari had a prenup prior to walking down the aisle in June 2022, the outlet reported that Asghari, 30, walked away from their 14-month marriage with ‘virtually nothing.’
Amid their divorce proceedings, she did pay his rent for a few months after he moved out.
He has since moved on with Brooke Irvine while Spears had a short-lived fling with her former housekeeper Paul Richard Soliz.
In August, 2023 Asghari filed for divorce from Britney and cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the split.
At the time, a source told DailyMail.com, ‘The case was resolved, to Britney’s credit and at her request, to disentangle her from the probate court system. She wanted to avoid the circus and spectacle of a trial.’
Shortly after Sam filed, Britney broke her silence over their divorce and admitted that she had been ‘a little shocked.’

Sam had also addressed the divorce and shared, ‘After six years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.’

Two months after he filed, Britney’s memoir, The Woman In Me, was released in October. She mentioned Asghari in the book and called him a ‘gift from God.’
In response, the actor said, ‘That made me smile to be honest, I am freaking proud of her and I hope she takes over the world.’
Last year, Asghari told People that he would never ‘talk badly’ about Spears following their divorce.
‘It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on. I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other.’
He added, ‘That’s something I’m never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life.’
