Lizzo walked through the “Garden of Time” upon stepping onto the Met Gala red carpet on Monday night (May 6).
The “Good as Hell” star wore a skin-toned corseted gown designed by Paris-based label Weinsanto, complete with a headpiece that surrounded her face and extended out in a flower shape.
The outfit perfectly fits the event’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” which is inspired by a 1962 J.G. Ballard short story of the same name.
It’s been a tumultuous year for Lizzo, who shared a message to Instagram signed, in all-caps, “I QUIT,” in March. “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the Internet,” read the note.
“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
