They are siblings who have taken the fashion world by storm.
And Elle and Dakota Fanning were taking the Met Gala by storm on Monday night as they both arrived looking simply sensation at the New York based bash.
The 18-year-old Maleficent star looked incredible in a champagne coloured backless gown while her older sister, 22, was gorgeous in a gothic-inspired lace ensemble.
Elle stole the show in her structured gown which showed off the fact she had opted to forego a bra for her night at the star-studded bash.
The satin gown tumbled into an entirely backless style from the rear while featuring extremely delicate spaghetti straps upon her slender shoulders.
While falling straight down into an A-line from under the bust, the gown then extended into a lengthy train.
Attention was drawn to the base of the gown as she glided up the famed staircase at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Highlighting her alabaster skin, was a set of delicate chains which extended from the base of her neck to the centre of her chest.
Elle added to the glamour of the look as she scraped her tresses into an extremely тιԍнт ponytail at the very top of her head.
Her make-up was expertly applied – sure not to age her with heavy cosmetics, the application was kept light and dewy.
Putting her own youthful stamp on the look, the Man On Fire actress strung a delicate lace chocker around her neck while rocking tousled blonde tresses.
She looked sophisticated and stylish as she walked on the arm of Paris-based designer Guillaume Henry, who looked suave in a tuxedo.
Elle later took to Instagram to share a sultry image of the sisters while adding the simple caption: ‘No caption needed’.
The Met Gala is hosted this year by Taylor Swift as well as Editor of American Vogue Anna Wintour, Idris Elba, and Jonathan Ive, chief design officer of Apple.
Wintour took over as chairwoman of the gala in 1999.
Since then, she has transformed what was once a local fundraiser into one of the world’s most elite costume parties that ranks as a celeb magnet only equaled by the Academy Awards red carpet – with A-listers hungry for a chance to be the muse of a fashion designer.
The honorary chairs are the Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld; Miuccia Prada; and Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director.
All will be in attendance except for Mr. Lagerfeld, who will be in Cuba because the Chanel Cruise show is in Havana the day after the gala, according to the New York Times.
The newspaper added that tickets this year are $30,000 apiece, and tables are $275,000. The party and exhibit are sponsored (this year Apple is the main underwriter), so all the money raised from ticket sales goes to the Costume Insтιтute. Last year, more than $12.5 million was raised.
